Let’s get one thing straight: America isn’t broke, it’s being robbed. A government shutdown is underway, again, and the same politicians who created the mess are cashing checks while you and I are left holding the bag.

And what’s the fight about this time? Democrats are digging in because they want to hand out healthcare, Medicare, and taxpayer-funded benefits to millions of illegal immigrants. People who never worked a single day in this country, never paid into the system, and never asked permission to be here. Meanwhile, you and I have been paying into Medicare since our first paycheck

Medicare Was Earned – Not Gifted

Medicare wasn’t meant to be some freebie tossed around like Halloween candy. It’s something American workers earned by being in the workforce for decades, typically sending 1.45% of their earnings, deducted from their paychecks for Medicare tax. I’ve been paying into Medicare for six+ decades; how about you?

Now, the political left wants to roll out the red carpet for illegals. That’s not compassion, that’s theft. You don’t raid the retirement fund of American citizens to score political points.

The Wrong Question

Turn on the news and you’ll hear the same stale question: “But Congressman, don’t these undocumented workers deserve healthcare too?”

Here’s the question they should be asking:
“Congressman, is YOUR salary or YOUR healthcare being cut to pay for Healthcare for All?”

Silence. Crickets. Because everyone in Congress knows the truth: their salaries never stop, their healthcare is gold-plated, and their perks are untouchable. Government shutdown? They don’t feel a thing. The only ones who bleed are the taxpayers.

The Political Con Game

Don’t kid yourself, this isn’t about compassion. It’s about power. Democrats aren’t pushing healthcare for illegals out of the goodness of their hearts. They’re buying votes. Create a dependent class today, cash it in at the ballot box tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the citizens who actually paid into Medicare watch their benefits stretched thinner and thinner. This is how you hollow out a country without firing a shot. 

Social Security funds, for example, are projected to be depleted by 2034, which means that without changes, beneficiaries may only receive about 77% of their full benefits at that time. In a previous blog I explained how our government uses Social Security funds as a slush fund, since it was never stated to be a guaranteed retirement income.  Social Security is backed by a government IOU, not a savings account.  If they can raid Social Security once, what makes you think they won’t do it again, this time for illegals?”

What Holds a Nation Together

A real nation has three non-negotiables:

1. Secure Borders: If anyone can just walk in, you don’t have a country.
2. A Common Language: Without it, you’ve got chaos, not unity.
3. A Stable Culture: Destroy that, and you destroy the nation’s identity.

The progressive left is taking a sledgehammer to all three.

What Congress Doesn’t Want You To Know

• Congress keeps their salaries, healthcare, and perks during shutdowns. They feel zero pain.
• Medicare is being hijacked to cover people who never paid a dime into it.
• “Healthcare for All” is political marketing; it’s not about fairness; it’s about locking in a permanent voting bloc.
• The taxpayers are on the receiving end of a political coup, without a military takeover. Citizens are paying for a system stolen out from under them.

How we fix it

• Shut off Congressional perks during shutdowns: If the people suffer, so should their representatives. Period.
• Protect Medicare for citizens only: You earn it, you keep it. No pay-in, no payout.
• Lock down the border. Every nation has one. Without it, we’re just a piece of land up for grabs.
• Change the conversation: Stop asking feel-good questions. Start asking: “What are YOU giving up, Congressman?”
• Return to the Constitution: Government’s job is to protect citizens’ rights, not trade them away for political power.
• Hold your Congressional representative accountable: Numerous video clips are available showing political leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and most recently Kamala Harris, once said she supported banning private health insurance for illegals, then backtracked. She also reversed her stance on fracking and other issues in order to win new voters.

Final Word

I’m not interested in being politically correct. The truth is ugly enough on its own. America is being scammed. The same politicians who’ve lived their whole lives on government salaries, never working a real day in the competitive marketplace, are selling out the very people who put them in office and built this nation.

Everyone is entitled to change their minds based on new knowledge, but when politicians deliberately espouse what’s politically favorable for them at the time, it’s time to clean house.
